Outline the responsibilities of staff members in
maintaining workplace WH&S.

Staff members must take responsibility care for
their own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by their
actions.

Eliminate risks to health & safety. If not
reasonably practicable, risk must be minimized.

What are the procedures for raising concern
regarding WH&S in the workplace?

The primary reason for WH&S legislation is
to make every workplace a safe & healthy one.
·
Every business is required to provide a safe,
healthy & secure workplace for their employees.
·
Nobody wants to be at risk of injury, illness or
death
·
Every worker is required to follow the WHS
procedures , practices & guidelines of their workplace.

What are codes of practice?

Codes of practice provide guidelines for your
conduct when carrying out duties. The codes are made up of a set of rules that
help you to know what you should and should not do.

What does it mean to be ethical in the
workplace?

To be ethical in the workplace means conforming
to accepted moral standards. Applied to the work environment , it means that an
ethical person has a higher standard than just avoiding a certain behavior
or practice because it is illegal.

resolution techniques that can be used in the workplace

Take responsibility:
If involved in a workplace conflict, should
take the initiative & begin dealing with the
situation.

Tread carefully :
Be extremely careful regarding your
communication style and how it may be received by others. Tread carefully ,
courteously & discreetly.
·
Encourage all points of view:
Encourage a fair discussion by only
allowing one person to speak at a time , without interruption.
·
Establish and agree on the problem:
Clarify and summarise what has occurred.
Try to distinguish the root cause of the problem and whether there are other
issues surrounding the situation.
